What Changes Laser Hair Removal Cost by Treatment Area
Ask whether a laser hair removal quote is per session or for a package of sessions, and what it covers: the treatment area, the number of sessions, the laser used, touch-up terms, and who performs the treatment.
Use the table below to know what to ask about each area. For why two quotes for the same treatment may not be comparable, see how Chicago med spa pricing works.
| Body Area | What to Confirm | What to Ask |
|---|---|---|
| Underarms | Session count and package terms | Is a touch-up session included after the package ends? |
| Bikini Line (Standard) | Where the standard line is drawn, session count, package terms | Exactly which area does the standard bikini price cover? |
| Brazilian (Full) | Which area the Brazilian price covers, session count, package terms | What is the total price for the full course, not one visit? |
| Full Legs | Session count and package terms | Are upper and lower legs priced separately or together? |
| Men's Full Back & Shoulders | Session count and package terms | Are the shoulders included in the back price? |
| Upper Lip & Chin | Whether the small areas are priced separately or bundled | Are the upper lip and chin quoted as one area or two? |
- Which laser or light-based device will be used, and why is it suited to my skin and hair?
- How many sessions do you recommend for this area, and at what spacing?
- What does the package include, and is any part refundable if I stop?
- Who will operate the laser, what training do they have on this device, and which physician delegated the procedure?

How much does laser hair removal cost in Chicago?

Who can perform laser hair removal in Illinois?
According to the IDFPR and IDPH medical spa memo, which cites 68 Ill. Admin. Code 1285.336, using a laser or other light-emitting device for cosmetic procedures that disrupt the epidermal surface of the skin is the practice of medicine and is excluded from cosmetology and esthetics. A physician may delegate non-ablative procedures to a licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, full practice authority APRN, or other person, with the physician on site or available by telephone or electronic means, and the person performing it must have documented training on the device. Ask who will operate the laser and verify their license.
